A.P. EURO EXTRA CREDIT GUIDELINES
Purpose: The objective of the extra credit for A.P. European History is two fold. One I want to increase the student’s interest in the subject of European history through the reading of books, watching of movies, and analyzing of documents. Secondly, I want to allow the students some opportunity to do extra credit due to the challenge that an A.P. course presents for many sophomores. In designing the extra credit guidelines I wanted to emphasize the importance of daily work done in class. I also want the students to understand that the best way to succeed in A.P. European History is through a daily commitment on their part to succeed. In order to meet these objectives I felt that it would be good to allow students to earn extra credit in the following ways.
#1- Book Reviews: The book reviews are worth up to 25 points. Students may complete up to 2 book reviews per semester for a total of up to 50 points of extra credit.
#2- Document Analysis: The document analyses are worth up to 10 points per document. Students may complete up to 4 extra credit documents for a total of up to 40 points of extra credit per semester.
#3- Movie Analysis: The movie reviews are worth up to 10 points per movie. Students may complete up to 3 movie reviews per semester for a total of up to 30 points of extra credit.
Reminder to Students: Please complete all extra credit according to the guidelines on the webpage. Remember your extra credit will be graded according to the level of effort and completeness that you do. If you decide to take advantage of all the extra credit opportunities you can earn up to 120 points for the semester. Good Luck!!
